What we collect

When you register as a candidate we collect your name, contact details, location, work status, professional history and the documents you choose to upload.

We ask about your immigration category and the month and year your permission expires. We do not ask for your passport, biometric residence permit, visa document or share code at registration. Those are only requested later, securely, where a genuine recruitment process requires them.

Why we use it

  • To match you to vacancies and show you roles you can apply for
  • To send job alerts, where you have asked for them
  • To share your CV with a specific employer, where you have given permission for that employer
  • To meet our legal obligations and to defend legal claims

Your permissions

Consent to recruitment processing, job alerts and marketing are three separate choices. Marketing is never a condition of registering, and declining it has no effect on your profile or your applications.

We keep a record of each choice, when it was made and how, including when you withdraw it. You can change any of them from your dashboard.

Who sees your information

Employers cannot browse candidate CVs. An employer sees your full profile and CV only where you have applied to their vacancy or given explicit permission for them to receive it.

Your internal candidate status is visible to you and to authorised TalentSponsor administrators. Employers never see it.

How long we keep it

  • Candidate profiles and documents: retained while your account is active, and for a defined period after it becomes inactive
  • Application records: retained for the period required to handle any dispute or legal claim
  • Consent records: retained as an append-only history so we can evidence what you agreed to

Your rights

You can access, correct, export or delete your information. Your dashboard has one-click export and account deletion. You can also object to processing or ask us to restrict it.

If you are unhappy with how we handle your information you can complain to us, and you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Security

  • Documents are stored in private storage and are never publicly accessible
  • Access to candidate records is restricted at the database level, not only in the interface
  • Administrator actions are recorded in an audit log that administrators cannot edit
  • We do not store payment card details
